You’ve seen and heard about it! Charleston has been voted the #1 best city in the U.S again! It’s no surprise, considering the vast amount of options in nightlife, dining, gorgeous scenery, and quality of life. Whether you live here, or are simply visiting, there are so many places to explore, things to do, and, my favorite, take photos of here in the Holy City.

If you’ve been doing some research, you probably already know of the famous Rainbow Row, Pineapple Fountain, and the Battery. These are common places to visit while you’re here. And they’ve probably been listed in the many articles you’ve read about the best places to take photos in Charleston. That being the case, I want to provide you with a few off-the-beaten-path places that you may have never heard of before! It’s always great to have a few more options and help you explore the city like a local. So, here are a few of the best places to take photos in Charleston from a photographer’s stand point that I think are worth your while! Did I mention that these spots are super Instagram-worthy as well?!

The Top 5 Best Places to Take Photos in Charleston, South Carolina

1) Washington Square in Downtown Charleston. Lovely greenery and amazing views.

2) Any side street off East Bay Street, south of Broad Street. Gorgeous homes and beautiful architecture serve as a beautiful backdrop.

3) Folly Beach on James Island. Sunrise and sunset are the best times to go!

4) The Ravenel Bridge. There’s a pedestrian walkway that has beautiful views and is great for taking some lifestyle photos.

5) Meeting Street, south of Broad Street. Gorgeous greenery, historic houses, and beautiful flower boxes.
